Booking Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when you rent one of our holiday homes.
General terms of rental (T&Cs):
01. The rental contract becomes valid once the owner has received the deposit within 3 days into the account given below, quoting the invoice number. The balance is due no later than 4 weeks before arrival.
02. The guest is obliged to treat the house and its contents with care, and in particular to switch off electrical appliances after use. Doors and windows must be locked whenever the house is left. Any damage caused by the guest must be reported to the owner and paid for.
03. The guest may cancel the contract free of charge up to 6 weeks before arrival; after that, cancellation charges apply unless a replacement guest is provided. Cancellations must be made in writing.
The following cancellation charges apply:
Cancellation up to 6 weeks before arrival: 30 % of the total price. Cancellation up to 4 weeks before arrival: 60 % of the total price. Cancellation up to 1 week before arrival: 90 % of the total price.
In the event of a cancellation, the guest always pays a one-off amount of 35,00 € (administration fee).
04. Up to 2 dogs are allowed in the holiday home. Registering how many dogs are travelling with you is compulsory. If we find dogs on site that were not registered, or more dogs than allowed, the booking loses its validity and your stay will be terminated on site at your own cost. No other pets are permitted.
05. The maximum number of people allowed is 6 (4 people at Holiday Home Susi), including children and babies. If this is not observed, the contract will be terminated on site at your own cost. Exceptions must be agreed in writing.
06. Every person over and above the number booked is subject to a surcharge, and the extra night must be registered, always within the maximum number of people allowed
07. If the guest falls behind with the deposit or the balance payment, the owner is entitled to terminate the contract without notice and without giving further reasons, and to let the property to someone else. In that case the cancellation charges set out in the table under point 3 become due.
08. A security deposit of 100 € is payable. The deposit is refunded within 2-3 weeks of departure.
09. The parking space at the property (the driveway or the marked bays) must be used – parking vehicles on the road, on grass verges or at turning points in the holiday village is not allowed – and the maximum number of vehicles must be observed.
10. Parking motorhomes or caravans is prohibited as a rule and requires prior agreement with the owner.
11. Using the house electricity supply for refrigerated vans, trailers, electric vehicles and the like is strictly prohibited. An EV charging point is available for charging electric vehicles. Its use is chargeable.
12. Please observe the check-in and check-out times; see the arrival and departure information sent by e-mail before your stay – departing later than agreed is not permitted. If this causes costs because cleaning staff have to wait, or because the home cannot be let for a period, these costs will be deducted from the security deposit or invoiced separately.
13. The wood-burning stove may only be used with the materials provided – using anything else (your own firewood) is prohibited.
14. Smoking is not allowed (e-cigarettes included)! We do not let to anyone under 21 years of age!
15. Parties, stag and hen dos and social events of any kind are not allowed – quiet hours are 22.00-06.00
16. The final clean is carried out by a cleaning company and is already included in the final price. Even so, the guest must do the following beforehand: empty the bins, put crockery and furnishings back where they belong, wash up any dishes used and empty the dishwasher, strip the beds and gather all used towels together, clean the barbecue and dispose of the charcoal residue – please leave the holiday home swept clean and dispose of empty bottles and glass. If this is not done, the additional costs incurred will be deducted from the security deposit.
17. Service charge
We are required by law to itemise separately those taxable services that are not subject to the reduced rate of tax, such as internet, parking and use of the sauna. These costs are shown as a service charge. The service charge is calculated according to the length of the stay and the number of people staying.
18. Cancellation of the booking by the owner
The owner is entitled to cancel the booking at any time if it is not possible to let the property booked by the guest in proper condition. Such reasons include events of force majeure, water damage, fire damage, restrictions on the supply of energy or water, restrictions on waste water disposal, damage to the property or similar events that make it impossible to let the property without restrictions.
If the owner cancels, the guest has the following options:
a) take the holiday in another available property belonging to the owner that is suitable for the number of people booked, or move the holiday to another period with comparable seasonal prices (up to 12 months into the future), by arrangement with the owner.
b) insist on a refund of the booking price already paid.
In both cases no booking or administration fees are charged.
19. The place of performance and jurisdiction is Mayen.
Arrangements relating to “Covid19” / “Coronavirus” and the current regulations issued by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate:
Cancellations where we as your hosts are not permitted to let during the period booked
Amounts already paid are converted into a travel voucher (5% discount on your next booking) with unlimited validity. Alternatively, you may rebook for any period you like.
Cancellations where you as a guest (individual traveller) are not permitted to travel during the period booked
Amounts already paid are converted into a travel voucher (5% discount on your next booking) with unlimited validity; alternatively, you may rebook for any period you like.
Cancellations where you as a guest are placed in home quarantine during the period booked
Cancellations where you as a guest cancel out of “fear” or have doubts about travelling
In this case our Terms & Conditions apply
If the arrangements above (voucher / rebooking) are not wanted and a refund is to be paid instead, this is paid out less 30% of the total amount.
As a general rule, the current regulations, rules, conditions and requirements must be checked before the arrangements above take effect. If none of these conditions applies, the cancellation liability set out in our Terms & Conditions applies.
