A landscape like no other
Rieden lies in the Laacher See volcanic region, right in the heart of the Osteifel. The Laacher See is the crater of a volcano that last erupted around 13,000 years ago.

Laacher See volcanic region
Traumpfade, castles, maars, volcanic craters, the Rhine and the Moselle. All within an hour’s drive, much of it on foot.
The village
Our holiday homes stand at the Riedener Waldsee, framed by woodland that invites you out for walks short and long. The lake lies in the Rhein-Ahr-Eifel protected landscape area, and the nature reserve around the Gänsehals begins right next door.
The lake is well signposted and easy to reach by road. From here you set out across the whole region: museums, nature trails, mines, palaces and castles, lakes, maars (crater lakes) and volcanic craters. The Moselle and the Rhine, the Nürburgring and the towns of Mayen and Koblenz are between 15 and 35 minutes away.
